Job Summary: A salad prep cook is responsible for assisting in the preparation of salads and other cold dishes in a food service establishment. They work closely with the kitchen team to ensure that all salads are prepared to the highest standards of quality, freshness, and presentation. The salad prep cook plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and smooth operation of the kitchen. Responsibilities: - Prepare and assemble a variety of salads and cold dishes according to established recipes and guidelines. - Wash, peel, and chop vegetables and fruits for salads. - Prepare dressings, sauces, and garnishes for salads. - Ensure that all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and rotated to maintain quality. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the salad station, including proper storage of ingredients, utensils, and equipment. - Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying the supervisor of any shortages or discrepancies. - Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure the safety and quality of the salads. - Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient service. - Assist in other food preparation tasks as needed. Requirements: - Proven experience as a salad prep cook or similar role. - Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations. - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Strong communication and teamwork abilities. - Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects. - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
